Souls of Flamenco: A Night in Tribute to María Jiménez and Bambino

On 23 October at 21:00, the Felipe VI Theatre plays host to a heartfelt tribute concert honouring two of flamenco’s most influential voices, as Esperanza Soria and Fernando Soto bring the legacy of María Jiménez and Bambino back to the stage.

Bambino, born Miguel Vargas Jiménez, passed away in 1999, and María Jiménez followed in 2023 — yet their mark on flamenco remains as vivid as ever, echoing through the work of today’s artists, Esperanza Soria and Fernando Soto chief among them.

In this special performance, the pair pay homage to the dramatic, deeply expressive style that made Bambino and María Jiménez such captivating stage presences. Guitars, percussion, palmas and flute combine to recreate the raw, emotive atmosphere that defined their music.
