CONTEST ′′ HOLY WEEK STEPS IN MINIATURE ′′ Easter is approaching and the Culture Councilor of Manilva City Council Alba Jimenez, prepares activities tailored to the situation we are in due to the pandemic.This is why you launch a novel initiative, hosting the 1st Contest ′′ Miniature Easter Steps “. This contest is designed to be able to enter from home. It’s a miniature Easter contest. This contest will be targeting the schoolchildren of our municipal area. The bases of the contest are as follows: 1 PARTICIPATION All students who want to participate, provided they are enrolled in one of the educational facilities or attached to the municipality of Manilva may participate. Likewise, there will be three categories, corresponding to the three different cycles of primary education. 2 THEME The theme is strictly religious (miniature Easter pass). Casares celebrates their Carnival 2021 on March 6th Carnival de Casares 2021 features special and telematic programming targeting both children and adults. Casares councilwoman Antonia Pineda has explained that for safety reasons a series of virtual actions has been opted out. Children’s Carnival will feature ANIMATION through Radio Casares Facebook page, which will be able to follow all the little ones and their families from home and maintain an interaction with the entertainers. In addition, all children are invited to dress up and participate in the #CarnivalCasares2021 campaign, flooding social media under that hashtag and showing everyone their costume. COSTUME CONTEST ′′ AT HOME AND FAMILY ′′ This years carnival due to Corvid 19 will have a twist, with most activities being online, with votes for the best costumes contest being voted on via the Manilva Coucil Facebook page. The Minister for Culture Alba Jimenez, in collaboration with the Association Carnavalesca Peña ′′ Los Niños ′′ of Sabinillas, given the proximity of the date when the Carnivals are commonly celebrated and it being impossible to carrying out activities normally due to the pandemic the council are launching a costume contest from home called ′′ Home and Family ′′. This contest will be targeted at both the children and adults. CONTEST RULES: 1 PARTICIPATION All those who want to participate, it is not necessary to be registered in the Municipal of Manilva. The Princess Children’s Musical arrives at the Rosary Gardens on Sunday, July 26 at 22.00 p.m. Entry to the musical is free, but the capacity is limited to comply with safety and social distance measures. The events start now and will continue until the end of August, with music for all ages and covering many genres of music from Flamenco to guest DJ´s. Photographic Exhibition by artist Lourdes Million. Until July 15th you can visit the exhibition ′′ Ruins, stars, flowers ′′ at the Duchess Castle in Castillo, ′′ Ruins, Stars, Flowers…” by the photographer and author Lourdes Millán Espinosa. Millan, a graduate of English Philology from the University of Granada, is the author of a novel, entitled ′′ The Archive of Suzanne “, and in this exhibition focuses on a photograph she collected from the rubble of a broken house, it took years later to complete her search that opened on March 22, 2006. The Councilor of Culture, Alba Jiménez, has wanted to thank the author who chose our municipality to show her interesting exhibition and encourages citizenship to visit her.
This weekend, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March, the carnival will be held in our town. The delegation of Culture, directed by Alba Jiménez, has designed a wide variety of activities for the enjoyment of all citizens, in which we highlight the traditional costume contests or the performances of chirigotas and renowned troupes. celebrating the purest carnival atmosphere in the Plaza de Los Maestros de Sabinillas. Saturday opens from 4 in the afternoon with the registration and children’s costumes contest. Soon after we will have animation for the little ones from half past five. The contest itself, both individually and collectively, will take place at 7 in the evening. The best costume will take 250 euros for first prize and 150 for the second. Casares celebrates its annual carnival on Saturday March 7, 2020 with a programme of events for both children and adults. For the kids there is a Children’s party which begins with a parade through the streets of Casares Town setting out from Calle Carrera at around 5 pm. Later on it is the turn of the adults with their parade leaving from the Peñon Roao at 10.30 pm heading to the Plaza Marcelino Camacho where the fancy dress competition will be held with prizes for the Best Couple, ‘Aguja de Oro’ and Best Individual costumes.
Programme Andalucia Day On February 28th, the day of Andalusia will be held in the multi-Purpose Pavilion and on Calle Mar in Manilva. To celebrate the day of our autonomous community, the director of culture Alba Jiménez has designed a program of activities that will occupy the full day on the 28th with different musical acts as well as the Dance school. From 12:00 pm, The Dance institution act will be carried out, with the traditional flag hoist accompanied by the anthem of Andalusia, which will be played by the municipal music band of Manilva, the municipal choir and the Association. Together they will perform our anthem with music, singing and sign language. After the institutional act, the different musical formations will perform several typical Andalusian musical pieces separately. El Coro Municipal and La Asociación Luisana, which will play several topics. Next will be the municipal music band that will play several Pasodobles in the purest Andalusian style. Basketball Campus Week White 2020 The Sports delegation of the city council of Manilva and the sports club Manilva Basketbase organize another year of the white week campus. Coinciding with this holiday period, on 24, 25, 26 and 27 February, the young people of the town will have the opportunity to practice sport through this camp, which will be developed in sports facilities at the Vines complex.
Casares Costa celebrates its carnival this Sunday, February 23, at 12 noon in the Jardines del Rosario. The Children’s party will start with a costume parade and gift delivery to each of the participants. It will have inflatable castles, workshops, globloflexia… and other fun activities.
The delegation of Fiestas del Ayuntamiento, led by Daniel Muñoz, echoes and supports the special Valentine’s Day party that will take place on February 15 in the Manilva Multiple Uses pavilion. Organized by the local company Muled Sound Shows, this celebration will feature the performance of South Basement, who will pay tribute to the golden age of Spanish pop. The International Fencing Club “Andaluzía” together with the delegations of Sports, tourism and culture of the town council have organised the VII international tournament villa de Manilva. More than 100 participants are expected from the main Andalusian provinces and schools in the area will take part in children’s categories, adults and veterans. The Sports Fencing Competition will begin at 9.30 in the morning. From 11.30 pm will take place an exhibition of scenic fencing by the high school of performing arts of Malaga (Esaem), a fencing modality that recalls the ancient duels. Presenting the knowledge, techniques, history, clothing and actions used in scenes of theatre and cinema. It shows all the tradition of Spanish fencing that was held in enclaves such as the castle of the Duchess and at the same time a very interesting show.
