At the beginning of 2021, the closure of the sports facilities in the Sabinillas was announced, this was due for necessary small repairs that needed to be carried out and to improve services for users, we were told by Manilva City Council.
There was also a change of management after this closure to the company Edufy Formación. They will be in charge of managing these public facilities from now on but they argue due to the current difficulties with COVID they are not able to carry out the necessary small repairs despite the fact that construction and renovations are considered as essential activities in the current level of risk which Manilva finds itself at present.
They are using this as an excuse for not carrying out these repairs and renovations, until the current risk level falls, which for the moment restrictions will remain until 10th February.
The sports center and facilities cannot open but essential repairs and renovations can be carried out to be ready for reopening.

PRICE RISES
Locals and users of these facilities are in for some surprises, with increased prices.
This change in management will increase costs to its users with a price increase in all activities but will maintain the same 25% discount for pensioners, retirees and people with a youth card.

Here´s how the price increases will affect users of these facilities when it reopens.
Padel match at night cost €12, from now on the price will rise to €19, a rise of 58.33% and the same for the football pitches.
Inside sports activities such as Aerobics, Zumba, Spinning, Pilates and Yoga classes… the cost before closing and the transfer to a private management company was €30 per month, but now will see an increase of 50% costing €45.
