Take a look at the Casares video down below:
This Andalusian town sits some 9 miles back from the coast of the Costa del Sol.
The spectacular white town of Casares is steeped in history dating back to the Romans. The origins of Casares date back to when Julius Caesar ordered its construction as a show of gratitude for having been healed by the waters of the Baths of La Hedionda, these are know locally as the Roman Baths.
The 12th century castle sits on top of the hill and the village cascades down to form the town as we know it today.
Getting to the village by car from the main coast road is very simple with just the one road from the A7 coast road offers stunning views as you head towards the town, on the way there are ventas (restaurants) serving typical Andalusian food and wines. From Manilva just head inland past the quarry on the A-377 and again you will be presented with spectacular views again of the Casares valley leading up to the town.
It has been said that Casares is probably one of the most photographed towns in all of Andalucia and when visiting the area you can see why.
Casares town spreads down to Casares Costa, which itself has a historical monument such as the Torre del Sal (Salt Tower).
