The Belenes Contest 2023 is accessible to everyone. You can sign up until December 13 and register in the Culture branch at the Manilva City Council.

What are the rules of the contest?

  • All people who wish may participate in this contest, whether they are registered in our municipality, as long as the home where the Nativity scene is installed is located in our municipal area.
  • To participate in the contest there is no age limit, and registration can be made in the name of any member of the family unit or any other person independent of it.
  • The techniques for creating the Nativity scenes presented can be made of any material, and any type of technique can be used.
  • The Nativity scenes must be registered individually at the facilities of the Culture Delegation in the Manilva City Council, as well as in the premises of the Duquesa Castle Monument until December 13.
  • The jury will take into consideration criteria such as originality, materials used, as well as the work and effort made for its composition.
  • A first, second and third prize will be awarded. The amounts corresponding to these prizes are: €300, €200 and €100 for first, second and third prize respectively.
  • The jury will visit the nativity scenes after the registration deadline; Participants will be notified by telephone to arrange the date and time of the visit.
  • The organization reserves the right to add new rules, totally or partially change the program or any registration, as well as to adopt new initiatives, which, without being regulated in these bases, contribute to the greatest success and good functioning of the contest.
  • The participants who are winners of the contest will be able to pick up their prize at the churches in the municipality on January 4, coinciding with the times for delivering letters to SS. MM, The Three Wise Men of the East.
